SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #5 7th Grade
For this assignment, 7th graders were to use one-point perspective to create a room, adding their own details and theme. Annie used her love of the TV sitcom Friends to create a room themed around the show in vibrant colors! Rowan's drawing has a Halloween flare showing realistic shading and advanced skills in one-point perspective. Spectacular drawings, Annie and Rowan! Come design my house please....
SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #5: 6th Grade
For this assignment, 6th graders were to create a one-point perspective cityscape. Here is a couple of the students work! Zeke's drawing shows objects get smaller and less detail as you get closer to the vanishing point. Miranda used a mix of different materials to create an ariel view of Radiator Springs from Disney's "Cars". Although this work doesn't include a horizon line or a clear vanishing point in the picture, the narrowing of the road gives the feeling of space and suggests that it goes back to a vanishing point. Congratulations, Zeke and Miranda!
SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #5: 5th Grade
For this sketchbook assignment, the 5th grade students were to use one-point perspective to create and design a room. There were so many creative rooms turn in and I wanted to show off a couple of students' work that took their designs over the top! Isabella's use of vibrant color, pattern wallpaper and practice of value attracts the viewer's attention. Cadyn's color choices and his ability to carry through perspective with the framed jerseys is very impressive! Congratulations, Isabella and Cadyn!

SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #4: 8th Grade
For this assignment, 8th graders combined 2 to 3 animals together to make a chimera creation. (A chimera is essentially a single creature with features of two or more different animals/species). The spotlight this week goes to Jack and Ava! Congratulations!
SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #4: 7th Grade
It was a space race for art sketches this week as the 7th Graders were to choose an animal and draw it in space. "WOW" is an understatement because absolutely ALL of the sketches turned in where ASTRONOMICALLY amazing! Narrowing to just 2 was a toughie, but I think these students' artworks went over and beyond! Congratulations, Rowan and Valerie!
SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #4: 6th Grade
For this assignment, 6th Graders were to create a tube of paint that contains "magic" paint. Students decided on and labelled the paint tube with a scene or environment. The paint squeezed from the tube is an image of the the scene or environment labelled. Here are two students' sketches that I thought deserved a spotlight moment! Hobby Lobby better stock up! Congratulations, Brody and Kora!
SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #4: 5th Grade
For this assignment, 5th Graders cut a image of an animal to use as their subject of their sketch. Then, students created an environment for their subject using contour lines. This time, I have 3 spectacular drawings that are taking the spotlight. Congratulations, Cadyn, Cami and Ava!
