For this sketchbook assignment, the 6th grade students followed along with a tutorial to learn how to use the shading technique, pointillism. Pointillism is a painting or drawing technique that involves placing small dots of color in close proximity to each other on a canvas to create a larger image. Darker colored dots indicate shadows, while the lighter colored dots show the highlights. Highlights/lighter areas can also be shown by using less or distancing the dots, while shadows/darker areas can be shown by using more dotes, placed close together. Congratulations, artists!
