SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #15: 7th & 8th Grade
For this sketchbook assignment, the 7th and 8th grade worked with created art using words.
7th grade focused on typography (the style and appearance of printed words). These students created a contour drawing of an object, then filled the object with a word or words related to that object.
8th grade focused on creating a calligram (a poem, phrase, or word in which the typeface, calligraphy or handwriting is arranged in a way that creates an image. The image created by the words expresses visually what the word says.) These students draw a simple contour drawing of an object, then students filled the object with song lyrics or words from a poem.
Nice work, artists!
