SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #13: 8th Grade

For this sketchbook assignment, the 8th grade students learned how to draw architecture by following along with a tutorial on how to draw the White House.

This artist did a fantastic job using a graphite pencil to create accurate shading adding dimension to the White House. This drawing exhibits the artists attentiveness to the smallest details. Very impressive!

SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #13: 7th Grade

For this sketchbook assignment, the 6th grade students practiced drawing architecture by following along with a tutorial demonstrating how to draw the St. Louis Arch. 

These artists used great attention to detail right down to creating reflected light on the arch. Would you look at the brilliant colors and gradual gradients of the sky?!! Wow! Congratulations, artists!!!

SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #13: 6th Grade

For this sketchbook assignment, the 6th grade students learned how to draw architecture by following along with a tutorial on how to draw the US Capitol Building.

Students were expected to use accurate shading to add dimension to their drawings. Students created a background or scene and add details to the area around the building. Nice work, artists!!!

SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #13: 5th Grade

For this sketchbook assignment, the 5th grade students learned how to draw architecture by following along with a tutorial demonstrating how to draw the Alamo. 

Students were expected to create a background or scene and add details to make their artwork stand out. Some students created a comic style drawing while others gave the Alamo a total makeover! Congratulations, artists!!!

SPOTLIGHT - Sketch #12: 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th Grade

For this sketchbook assignment, the 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th grade students were asked to create a religious sketch for possible acceptance in the bulletin for the Easter church service. 7th & 8th grade students had a little harder task of incorporating at least 5 of the 7 elements of art in their drawing. 

Note: Sketches for the church bulletin will be selected by the priest. The drawings below may or may not be featured in the bulletin, but awesome work must be shown off!
